Recipe to Share

Mark and I have enjoyed this salad several times this summer.  I hope you try it, and like it!

 

Orange Almond Salad

1 large head red leaf lettuce

1 red onion, separated into rings, or 2-3 chopped green onions

11 oz. mandarin oranges, drained

4 oz. sliced almonds, (toasted, optional)

 

Dressing:

1 tsp. grated orange peel

1/3 cup orange juice

2 T. red wine vinegar

1/2 c. vegetable oil

2 T. sugar

1 pkg. Italian dressing (dry)  

 

Shake all ingredients together in a glass jar or plastic bowl with lid. Refrigerate leftover dressing.

Recipe Sharing

Did you know that I love to cook?

My husband can't believe how I love to look at cookbooks!

I'm always checking out new recipes and trying them!

 

So, from time to time I'll be sharing some recipes here.

You'll have to let me know if you try them!

And you'll have to share some of your

favorite recipes with me!

 

We've been having "soup weather" here~

we love a bowl of hot flavorful soup for dinner!

Here's one of our faves!

 

Italian Soup

 

16 oz. Italian Sausage (Trader Joes’ Chicken Sicilian, or other flavor)

garlic

4 cups chicken broth

2 cups water

9-12 oz. pkg of tortellini ( I like to buy fresh tortellini from Sam's or Walmart)

1 can garbanzo beans—drained

1 can stewed tomatoes

1/3 cup country Dijon mustard (The kind with the seeds)

½ tsp. dry oregano

¼ tsp. black pepper

1 cup fresh spinach, shredded, stems removed

Fresh grated Parmesan cheese

 

Cook sausage out of skin with garlic. Drain fat. Add chicken broth and water and bring to a boil. Add pasta, cook 4-5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients (except spinach and Parmesan). Heat thoroughly. Add spinach and cook 1 minute after it wilts. Dish up and top with parmesan. Serves 4. Enjoy!

Birthday Card Organizer Kit Class

 

Have you seen the Birthday Card Organizer Kit? It's amazing!   What does it do? It helps you stay organized with all the birthday cards you love to send!   We all love to send birthday cards, right? But do you ever forget to send them? Or are you sometimes late?   Well!--This kit helps you stay organized! It comes with pockets for each month, and a place to write the dates you want to remember on each month's pocket. Inside the pocket you can place the cards you want to send that month~ pretty cool, right?   The kit comes with the supplies needed to make 12 cards-six each of 2 designs.   I thought it would be fun to use the supplies in the kit to make different cards, so there would be several choices! It was SO fun!

Using the supplies in the kit, you can make six of these two basic designs, for a total of 12 cards.   Below you will see the designs I came up with, using the supplies in the kit, and a few other supplies I added in. There are 16 total designs.

Would you like to join me and make these new designs? It's so fun to do!   This class will be taught by Zoom. There are two dates to chose from: Friday, March 24, at noon PST, OR Sunday, March 26, at 4:30 PST.   The fee for the class (for all the supplies I'll send you) is $8.00, plus $8.00 for shipping (which includes tracking) for a total of $16.00. You may pay this fee with a check or with Venmo.
